What we hold, and what we don't

Short version: if you have not given us your email address, we hold nothing about you. If you have, we hold that address and nothing else, and you can have it deleted by replying to any email.

If you just read the site

Nothing is collected. There are no analytics, no advertising pixels, no cookies and no third-party trackers on these pages. The only external request a page makes is to Google Fonts, which serves the two typefaces; that request reaches Google with your IP address, as any request for any file does.

Our web server keeps standard access logs — IP address, time, the page requested — for a short period, to keep the site working and to spot abuse. Those logs are not linked to anything else and are not used to build a profile.

If you subscribe to the weekly scorecard

What we ask you for is one thing: your email address. Not your name, not your country, not what you bet on. It is used for one purpose — sending the weekly summary of how the model scored against the closing line — and for nothing else.

But the honest answer is longer than that, because we do not send the emails ourselves. Kit, our email provider, records whether you opened an email and whether you clicked a link in it, using a tracking pixel and rewritten links. Every mainstream email platform does this and our plan gives us no way to switch it off. We do not use that data to profile anyone, we do not export it, and it plays no part in what gets sent — the weekly email is identical for everybody. But it exists, Kit holds it, and a privacy page that told you otherwise would be the exact kind of comfortable half-truth this site was built to argue against.

One practical consequence: links in the email point at a Kit domain that redirects to ours. That is the click tracking. If you would rather not be counted, the same pages are always reachable directly at https://proofodds.com/scorecard/.

  • Legal basis: your consent, given by submitting the form. Consent you can withdraw at any moment.
  • Confirmation: you receive an email asking you to confirm. Until you click it, you are not on the list.
  • Unsubscribing: a one-click link in every email. No questions, no "are you sure", and the address is removed rather than marked inactive.
  • Processor: the list is held by Kit (kit.com), a US email provider, under their data processing terms. Data leaving the EU is covered by their standard contractual clauses.
  • Retention: until you unsubscribe. There is no archive of people who left.
  • Sharing: never. The list is not sold, rented, swapped or given to affiliates, bookmakers or anyone else. There is no business here that would be improved by doing so.

What this site will never do with your address

  • Send betting tips, picks or promotions.
  • Pass it to a bookmaker or an affiliate network.
  • Use it to work out who you are or what you wager.
  • Segment the list so that different people are told different numbers. There is one scorecard and everybody gets it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. Since what we hold is a single email address, all three are quick. Write to hello@proofodds.com, or simply reply to any email you have had from us. You also have the right to complain to your national supervisory authority; in Portugal that is the CNPD.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Simão Carvalhal, contactable at hello@proofodds.com.
